Class 12 board strategy

A practical Class 12 board exam strategy for parents

Class 12 board preparation becomes easier when revision, answer writing, pre-board correction, and weak-chapter repair are handled step by step.

Board strategy steps

Step 1

Start with the marks pattern

Check which chapters, question types, diagrams, numericals, derivations, and long answers carry regular marks. Plan revision around scoring areas first.

Step 2

Make one weak-chapter list

Ask the student and tutor to mark chapters as strong, medium, or weak. Weak chapters should get short daily slots instead of being postponed until the last month.

Step 3

Practise full answers, not only reading

Board marks depend on presentation. Students should write definitions, steps, diagrams, units, keywords, and final answers clearly within time limits.

Step 4

Use pre-boards as diagnosis

Pre-board marks are useful when mistakes are corrected. Track where marks were lost: incomplete answers, calculation errors, skipped diagrams, weak formulas, or poor time management.

Step 5

Revise from a mistake notebook

Keep repeated mistakes in one notebook. Before every school test or board practice paper, revise formulas, reactions, labels, spellings, and common presentation errors.

Step 6

Keep the routine calm and realistic

Class 12 pressure is high. A steady routine with sleep, school work, tuition, practice papers, and revision works better than panic study marathons.
